Not sure I’ve enjoyed a new Christmas song so much since I first heard that Wesley boy bashing out Hark the Herald on his portable pipe organ. Only joking, not that old really! Seriously happy to share this one, a Christmas song which gets in just enough of the gospel to make it a real worship song.

Written by St Mark’s Coventry’s worship pastor Andy Shelton, it is released today just in time for the Advent season and performed by the St Mark’s Coventry worship team https://www.stmarkscoventry.org/worship. Produced and mixed by musical director Stefan Schlag and mastered by Dave Plumb (Gas Street Church).

Andy Shelton said of the single “It was inspired by a GK Chesterton poem “The Home of Christmas”. I was captivated by the theme, since home is at the heart of the Christmas story. Jesus left his home in heaven to become homeless incarnate with us. He did this to make a way home to the Father and there’s a place at the table waiting for you.”
