I hope these posts will be helpful quotes, tips and insights. For the first one, we go back to one of the great writers on worship of the last century, Dr AW Tozer. He wrote:

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, so that I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, ‘Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away.’ Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long.

This is the heart of our worship life. We have the Holy Spirit, yet we need more of Him. The kingdom of God is near (Mt 4:17), but we pray “Your kingdom come” as we long for King Jesus to reign in more situations and more people’s lives. We know Him (1 John 5:20) but we want to know Him far more deeply (Phil 3:10). Whatever we know, and whatever we may have experienced, we can be sure there is infinitely more to discover. This is our joy in worship, to know Him more, and this is our hope for eternity.
