One of the aims of this site is to provide links and connections to great and inspirational material elsewhere on the web. This blog, entitled Leading Stripped Back Worship, was recently posted on the weareworship.com website.

Based in London, Lucy Grimble is a worship leader, musician and songwriter. I won’t repeat what’s in the blog – read it for yourself – but having experienced “Covid-restricted” worship in various formats, I found her enthusiasm and practical advice refreshing.

I have nothing against Youtube-style worship sessions, but Lucy explains her top tips for producing a really professional set with just herself playing and singing live. Practical suggestions with a strong biblical basis. Highly recommended!

  1. Thanks for this Richard – I found the link didn’t work, but managed to find it here:

It’s a really helpful article. I was thinking that I might add ‘to expect the unexpected’. If God is present during our worship, we can expect to be changed and that includes being flexible to adjust the plans we have made as He speaks to us. Keeping our communication channels switched on is one of the most exciting aspects of live worship – and God loves to reveal new things as we worship Him.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks Nathan, I think I’ve fixed the link. Keeping our communication channels switched on, yes definitely, I’m assuming you are referring to communication with God! I liked Lucy’s suggestion though that we get people to switch their phones off for worship times.
